Elise has started to speak and sing in spanish. No, she does not know how to really speak spanish! But she just loves other languages and wants to speak them all the time. She has started to have me only play the spanish music station on the radio in the car, then she sings and loudly. The girl makes me laugh!! Also, if anyone knows how to count to ten in chinese, we really need to learn!
Tessa is doing wonderful! I am asked how she is doing all the time. Her muscles were really sore and tight after the casts came off, but after a little therapy, she is moving along nicely! That girl is so cute and I love that she is so happy! Bless her heart, she would love to run and follow Elise around until I heard the normal older sister plea for reprieve!
I have found out recently that I love spin/cycling classes. Could it be that I should let my husband buy me that road bike and start being a biker chic?? I don't think I am "sporty" enough! It just feels so good! I have always wanted to do a triathlon (that info has been really hidden deep in the dark places of my brain). Now I just need to learn to swim and not just doggy paddle!

You know I will take you swimming and I will even try to do it at a more reasonable hour:) I'll help you swim if you will teach me the proper way/time to shift gears on a bike. As for the road bike, yes let Chris buy you one and have him convince Kent to get me one too! I am three years over due on my Triathlon goal. I was suppose to accomplish that when I was 30! Oh well it is never too late. Perhaps we could do one together:)
Sorry it's me again! Here's an idea... with your new love of cycling, Aleesha being bit by the running bug and my workout consisting only of swimming - the three of us should enter a triathlon as a relay team.
Good job Jenny! I hope you can achieve your goal and do your triathlon. I will go and watch and be your cheerleader.
I'm so glad that Tessa's surgery has helped her and that she's doing well!
I think the singing in different languages thing must just happen at Elise's age. Something clicks in their brain and they become aware that there are other ways to speak out there. Rylee has been doing the same thing. Especially since we live in an international community, she's become fascinated with all the different languages she hears here.
I honestly never knew what a spinning class was until about 6 months ago when I asked James. I thought it was some sort of spinning around excercise class or something. Sounds fun though. I'm jealous of your drive to do things like that.
You would make a cute biker chic.
I bet you can find on youtube how to count in chinese. seems like I've heard a song with it before, I'll keep thinking and let you know.
You should live here, they teach spanish at school as one of their specials. Biker chic that is funny!
Kayla and Elise would get along great. Kayla sings in Spanish all the time. Funny thing since I have been teaching her Spanish. She is so proud. Give me a call at some point and I'll tell you how to count to 10 in Chinese (Miss Mott taught us- it's probably the only thing I remember). Glad to hear Tess is doing well.
Ni Hao! Do you ever watch Kai Lan on Nick Jr.? She teaches counting in Chinese. That's funny that you say Elise is interested in other languages because just yesterday she was asking Luke if he knew Feliz Cumpleanos meant. When Luke said, Happy Birthday, she was so excited that someone else knew what it meant.
I know two Chinese phrases! I had a Chinese roommate in college. Here is what I learned for over-seas phone calls from her parents: "Ting Ting boo dzai" (Ting Ting isn't here) and "Wo boo shwo jong when" (I don't speak Chinese). That is what my memory tells me anyway. It's been a really long time :) No need to thank me for the language lesson ;) You can just buy me lunch or something.
Still sad that I missed the purse party Jenny!
I actually thought of Tessa today in physical therapy as they had me strapped up to this thing called "traction" which was really a nice name for the ancient torture contraption they called "the rack" where they stretch your spine in opposite directions. It wasn't pleasant! Tessa is a much better trooper than I am!
